HELPING MAKE ART ACCESSIBLE TO EVERYONE IN HAWAII
The Art Loft is a community arts space that aims to support the development of Hawaii’s arts scene through its arts program, educational initiatives, and community projects.
Ana Kon is a leader of Hawaii, mentored by multiple Hawaiian leaders to teach Hawaiian culture and its arts. Her passion is to inform, educate, and share the valuable qualities of Hawaii, its culture and people. In the last 25 years, Ana has created Aina based education sites, and implemented Hawaiian practitioner curriculums. Today she continues to teach her daughter, tutors privately, and runs a few small businesses. Her teaching qualities are a combination of leadership of self, knowing your environment and understanding the Hawaiian Culture and its People.
Jeff Pagay is a fine artist, illustrator and and art instructor born and raised in Hawaii. Primarily self taught, Jeff has attended Honolulu Community College, The Honolulu Academy of Art, Leeward Community Collage, and the University of Hawaii at Manoa and has been working in the art field since 1983.
Fueled by a wild imagination and a passion to draw and paint, Jeff is constantly sketching and designing characters and concepts for new drawings and paintings. Some Projects include large wall murals, book illustration, fine art canvas using acrylics and oils. As owner and art instructor of West Oahu Art Academy, Jeff enjoys sharing his love and knowledge with students.
Luke DeKneef is a self taught artist originally from the busy town of Waipahu located in central Oahu, Hawaii. In his teen years Luke had still been drawing and sketching, but it wasn’t until he was in the 9th grade that his artistic abilities began to spark the excitement of Kahuku high school art teacher Ms. Sherrill Balbirona.
Luke began to excel higher and higher in his craft ever since that day and is now making himself known as a powerhouse in the genre of SurfArt. He has been a self taught artist right out of high school and has been creating fine art for over 17 years with his medium of choice, acrylics. His love for nature and the ocean is truly amplified in vibrant incomprehensible tones throughout his work. When he is not painting he is an active waterman, hiker, athlete and also finds time to do volunteer work in his community.
Sheena Marie Pacheco is a Pre-K educator with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Her 13 year teaching journey enabled her to positively impact learning and the development of children from the ages of 6 weeks to 10 years. Her vibrant personality and passionate mindset are valued attributes that allow her to go the extra mile to help all students gain valuable learning experiences in any educational adventures she guides and nurtures. When not being crafty and working with children, you can find Sheena at the beach, exploring life’s many adventures with her husband two vibrant daughters, Isabella and Piper, or teaching art classes here at The Art Loft.
