The Art Loft’s Intern Program is geared towards college students, recent art graduates as well as artists who are interested in teaching or furthering their art education. Teaching Assistants perform a wide variety of functions throughout the program at The Art Loft in exchange for classes and open studio time.
This is an opportunity for artists to join a supportive educational environment while building their resume with essential teaching and technical skills.
Interns work either 15 – 30 hours per week, for a total of 60 hours. In exchange for this work they will receive access to open studio hours. Each person will receive their own locker and shelf space with free access to all paint supplies (excluding canvases).
Duties shall include but not be limited to:
- General set-up of DIY Studio Responsible for helping customers with canvas purchasing
- Classroom set up and clean-up
- Hands-on assistance to children ages 6-12 years
- Assist customers who need art inspiration or help with art techniques
It is important to both the educational value of your experience as well as the stability of our program that applicants are prepared for a 2-4 week (60 hour) commitment to the Art Loft’s Intern Program.
